Jane Tarrant’s personal recommendations (so far)

Best for Sport & Sweat & Comfort

Zone8 Nasal Strips - The best adhesion and comfort I’ve found for sport. I’ve sweat tested these in the sauna, shower and during exercise. This option makes a statement. You’re an optimiser and you’re not trying to hide it. Available in black & pink, with two different sizes for dilation strength. My code “LINKBREATHING10” gives you an extra 10% off above any onsite discount.

Best for Sleep & Budget & Subtlety

Neon Nasal Strips - These are clear. If you want something discreet, for short term use, e.g. an exercise session which isn’t too sweaty, during a cold or to get a good night’s sleep if you are feeling congested or restricted, this is my favourite. It is at a reasonable price and does the job. They are comparable to something like Breathe Right who also do a clear option, but are better value with 60 per pack.

Best for Speed, No Glue & Less Waste

Airmax Nasal Dilator - I have worn this for sleep and exercise. I don’t love sleeping in it, as I find it slightly uncomfortable after a long period of time, but so pop in for a short exercise stint, especially if I don’t want glue on my face or for clients who wear face cream, it is a good option to consider.

Thinking of using mouth tape for sleep too?

Before you start, please read my article: Why Some People Shouldn’t Mouth Tape For Sleep

Mouth tape preparation video for sleep

Here are two helpful videos:

1) to check you are ready to mouth tape at night

2) to learn how to optimise your breathing habits

Mouth tape is a great tool for helping guarantee nose breathing at night, but it is not the only way to improve your breathing habits, nor is it suitable for everyone. Certainly not without preparation. Not all of my clients use it.
